The determination of whether an investor is a Qualified Purchaser is
based in part on the amount of “investments” owned by the investor.
A natural person and a “family company” (as defined in the Investment
Company Act) must have at least $5 million of investments. Most
entities must own and invest on a discretionary basis at least $25
million of investments or must be owned exclusively by “qualified
purchasers.”
